CHOP5 salad concept moving into the Valley

Successful franchisees Brian Mills and Allen Hertzman were chatting in a bar, when they recalled a 10-year-old plan to start a creative, original food concept.

“We said, ‘Let’s look around and see what concepts were the next big things,’” Mills said. “We traveled around for a year. We discovered a chopped salad craze in New York.”

Mills, Hertzman and four other industry veterans opened CHOP5, a chef-crafted salad concept, similar to Chipotle, that recently partnered with Scottsdale-based Conscious Capital Growth.
